Within the framework of the Presidential initiative, “New Beginning for Human Development”, Community Service and Environmental Development Department at Faculty of Law organized an awareness symposium titled, “Bedayet Khair” which means “Beginning of Good” on Monday, November 4th, 2024.
The symposium was held under patronage of Prof. Mohammed Hussein, Acting Tanta University President; Prof. Mahmoud Salim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Osama Badr, Faculty Dean; and Prof. Samy Abdel Aal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development. It was lectured by Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar, Executive Manager for the Main Center for Public Social Services, in attendance of many academic staff, assistant staff, Mrs. Azza Al-Fallal, Secretary-General of the Faculty; Mrs. Baheyya Al-Menshawy, Manager of Youth Welfare Department; and Mrs. Amira Zedan, Deputy Manager of the IT Unit; as well as managers of the administrative departments and students.
The events started with playing the national anthem, and then some verses from the Holy Qur’an were recited. After that, Prof. Samy Abdel Aal welcomed the attendees and affirmed the necessity of student participation in symposiums held by the faculty which play a vital role in increasing their awareness and fostering a sense of belonging. He added that many presidential initiatives were launched to raise efficiency of the Egyptian citizens and requalify them, highlighting the university’s role in investing the presidential initiatives in developing the academic programs which increase efficiency of the students and qualify them for the labor market. He also welcomed Prof. Osama Badr, who emphasized the importance of the symposium in raising awareness among youth within the framework of presidential initiatives.
For her part, Prof. Amal Abdel Sattar clarified that the " Beginning of Good " program aims to invest in human capital through a comprehensive plan that includes education, health, culture, and sports; in addition to improving quality of life and providing job opportunities. She emphasized that these efforts are part of Tanta University's strategic plan, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030 and furthering the Sustainable Development Goals. She explained that the initiative seeks to motivate youth to achieve sustainable development goals and elevate human resources, noting that "Beginning of Good" represents an important step towards empowering youth and enhancing their capacities for a decent life and a better future.
