Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President, and Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Faculty Dean, and under the general supervision and attendance of Prof. Magdy Wakwak, General Coordinator of Student Activities, the Faculty of Law organized a seminar titled “Sustainable Development, Governance, and Preparing Students for Leadership Positions at University Faculties.”
The seminar was held in the presence of Prof. Hassan Mohamed Boudy, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and under the supervision of Mrs. Bahya El-Menshawy, Director of the Youth Welfare Administration at the Faculty of Law.
The seminar featured a lecture delivered by Prof. Magdy Mahmoud Wakwak — General Coordinator of Student Activities — who addressed preparing students for leadership roles inside and outside the university, forming students’ character, developing future leaders, the traits of student leaders, decision-making skills, the importance of participation in student activities and student work on campus, and awareness of the articles of the student bylaw.
The seminar also included a lecture by Prof. Ramadan Maan, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance at the Faculty of Commerce and Executive Manager of the Main Center for Digital Transformation and Financial Inclusion at Tanta University. He discussed governance and sustainable development, their definitions, and the dimensions of sustainable development — such as the economic and environmental dimensions — in addition to linking sustainable development to Egypt’s Vision 2030 and reviewing key Sustainable Development Goals, including “No Poverty” and “Quality Education.” He also explained inflation and the concept of financial inclusion.
The seminar attracted a huge turnout and strong interaction from students, who actively participated with their questions and inquiries regarding intellectual and societal issues. The event concluded with Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Law, honoring Prof. Magdy Wakwak and Prof. Ramadan Maan in appreciation of their valuable contributions to awareness sessions for students.
