In line with the commitment of educational and economic institutions to promoting awareness of financial inclusion and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, the Faculty of Law at Tanta University organized a seminar entitled “The Role of Financial Inclusion in Innovation and Entrepreneurship” on Monday, 30 March 2026.
The seminar was held under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Hussein, University President; Prof. Mahmoud Farouk Selim, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Mohamed Ibrahim, Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Prof. Sami Mohamed Abdel Aal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development.
The seminar was delivered by Prof. Ramadan Maan, Head of the Economics Department at the Faculty of Business – Tanta University and Executive Manager of the Central Unit for Digital Transformation and Financial Inclusion at the university, and Asst. Prof. Sameh Abdel Monem Serag, Assistant Professor of Business Administration and Manager of the Financial Inclusion Unit at the university.
At the outset, Prof. Sami Mohamed Abdel Aal welcomed the attendees and speakers, affirming the importance of financial inclusion in achieving sustainable development by raising awareness among different segments of society about the fact that innovation and entrepreneurship represent two fundamental pillars for stimulating economic growth and creating new employment opportunities for youth.
In his speech, Prof. Ramadan Maan underscored the significance of the seminar as part of ongoing efforts to enhance awareness of financial inclusion as a cornerstone of sustainable economic development. He explained that financial inclusion goes beyond merely enabling access to financial services; it serves as a genuine gateway to empowering innovators and entrepreneurs, opening new horizons for innovation and growth. He added that the seminar helps to exchange expertise among entrepreneurs.
For his part, Asst. Prof. Sameh Abdel Monem Serag highlighted the importance of shedding light on key initiatives that support the entrepreneurial system and promote a culture of innovation, thereby contributing to the development of a strong, knowledge-based, and creativity-driven economy.
The seminar was attended by Prof. Gamal El-Kordy, Emeritus Professor of Private International Law at the faculty, along with a distinguished group of faculty members, teaching assistants, Mr. Tamer El-Mahlawy, Faculty Secretary-General, and Ms. Bahia El-Menshawy, Director of the Student Welfare Administration at the faculty.
